Open links clean.

Turn on Open links clean and tracked post links lose their share token before they open in Chrome, whether you click them in a chat, an email or another site.

Added

  • Open links clean, per platform: TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X, Threads and Facebook. When a post link with share tracking opens in Chrome, the tracking parameters are removed before the request is sent.
  • TikTok short links and Threads and Facebook share links are expanded by the Linkpolish resolver and opened as clean links, so the platform does not receive the share link from your browser.
  • If a share link cannot be expanded, Linkpolish asks before opening the original link.

Improved

  • Quick-copy and Open links clean each keep their own on/off switch, so enabling one never turns on the other. Your existing Quick-copy choices are kept.
Availability & things to know
  • Open links clean is off by default and needs optional site access for each platform you turn on. Turning a platform off removes that access unless Quick-copy still uses it.
  • It only changes top-level page loads of single posts and videos that carry a known tracking parameter. Feeds, profiles, search, login pages and navigation inside the platform are not changed.
  • Works in Chrome on desktop only. Links opened in mobile apps are not affected. Removing a share token does not make you anonymous: the platform still sees your account, cookies and IP address when you open the post.
  • The extension update reaches Chrome after Web Store review; check chrome://extensions for your installed version.

Facebook links, cleaned.

Paste a Facebook link, including the short link from the Share button, or copy a clean link straight from your feed.

Added

  • Clean Facebook post, group post, Reel, video, photo and story links. Share tokens such as rdid, share_url, __cft__ and mibextid are removed; a comment_id is kept.
  • Facebook share links (facebook.com/share/…) resolve to the content they point to.
  • Optional quick-copy button beside Share on Facebook feed, group and page posts and in Reels. Turn it on in Quick-copy buttons.
Availability & things to know
  • Facebook quick-copy is off by default and needs optional Facebook site access, which you can remove at any time. It only appears when a post's own link is unambiguous; reshared posts and unsupported layouts show no button.
  • Facebook share links use the Linkpolish resolver, which requests the link once from Facebook to find the content; Facebook may count that as an open of the share link.
  • Facebook cleaning works on linkpolish.app first. The extension update reaches Chrome after Web Store review; check chrome://extensions for your installed version.

Threads links, cleaned.

Paste a Threads link — including the short link from the Share button — and get the post link without share tracking.

Added

  • Clean Threads post links from threads.com and threads.net. The share token (xmt) and app parameters such as slof are removed.
  • Threads share links (threads.com/share/…) from the web or the app resolve to the post they point to.
  • Open a Threads post and Linkpolish detects it from the current tab, the same way as other supported posts.

  • Threads has no in-feed quick-copy button. Use the popup or paste a link.
  • Threads share links use the Linkpolish resolver, which requests the link once from Threads to find the post; Threads may count that as an open of the share link. Direct post links are cleaned on your device.

Optional quick-copy buttons bring Linkpolish to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube without opening the popup each time.

Added

  • Copy a clean link beside Share on supported TikTok desktop feeds, Instagram Reels and feed posts, and YouTube videos and Shorts.
  • Enable each platform separately in Quick-copy buttons. Turn it off at any time to remove its buttons and site access.

Improved

  • Controls follow the current post as you browse. Copy rechecks the target instead of reusing a previous video link.
  • Compact popup settings keep the result and Copy button easy to reach.
  • Reels and Shorts controls align with the native action rail, with clear copy feedback.

Fixed

  • YouTube Shorts containing a related-video link now identify the playing video correctly.
Availability & things to know
  • Quick-copy is optional and off by default on a new installation. Open Linkpolish → Quick-copy buttons and enable the platforms you use.
  • X supports popup or pasted-link cleaning, not an in-feed button. Unsupported layouts can use the popup or manual paste.
  • No extension analytics or link history. Direct links are cleaned on your device; TikTok short links use the resolver. Removing tracking does not make sharing anonymous.
  • Published on the Chrome Web Store. Chrome applies extension updates on its own schedule; check chrome://extensions for your installed version.
